Inventory description: Letter, 16 Jan 1827; sent from Ens Dennis Downes, 31st Bengal Native Infantry at Neemuch (Nimach) in Gwalian territory to Lt Joseph Walker Jasper Ouseley, 28th Bengal Native Infantry, Professor of Persian and Arabic at the College of Fort William, Calcutta; carries the rare strike of the Meywar Field Force, the first army postal agency in India which was in existence, 1818-1840.
