Letter, 20 Dec 1825, includes cross-writing. Sent by Ann Clark and addressed to her husband Asst Sgn Hezekiah Clark, 36th Regiment of Native Infantry, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, Field Army. Asst Sgn Clark was serving at the time of the Siege of Bhurtpore, and his wife’s letter makes reference to ‘heathen idolatry’. Associated with the Rajah of Bhurtpore, Dorjun Sal, Sir David Ochterlony, Colonel-in-Chief and Lord Amherst.
