Necklace pendant, belonged to Sgt Stanley Thomas William Henshaw, London Rifle Brigade, 1909 (c) Made by an unknown manufacturer. Depicts the badge of the London Rifle Brigade. Associated with the Torrance Cup Competition, London Rifle Brigade. Gold coloured metal with a suspension loop at the top. Inscribed verso, 'TORRANCE CUP COMPT/ 1909/ SERGT S. T. HENSHAW'. During the Boer War, Lt Henshaw served with the City Imperial Volunteers and was attached to the London Rifle Brigade. During World War One he served with the London Rifle Brigade, becoming a Temporary Lieutenant on 17 May 1916, he held this rank until 1921 (c).
