Description
Manuscript letter to Stanley Thomas William Henshaw from Gertie, London, 9 Oct 1914, wishing him well for his impending overseas posting and sending him a sprig of heather for luck, three tins of vaseline and some boracic powder for his feet; from papers collected by Henshaw who served with the City Imperial Volunteers during the Boer War and with the London Rifle Brigade, Western Front, 1914-1918 (c), and in the United Kingdom, 1919-1927.
