Description
Child’s dressing gown with cloth badges sewn on it, 1943 (c). Worn by Antony Mallaby whose father, Maj Gen Aubertin Walter Sothern Mallaby, collected and wore some of the badges. Maj Gen Mallaby served in the 2nd Punjab Regiment and for the latter part of the World War Two was Director of Military Operations in the War against Japan. He was killed in action in Indonesia in 1945.
