Notebook containing Capt Hay’s diary, 7 Nov to 3 Dec 1886, a glossary of Burmese words and memoranda on horses, rations and marches. One of three leatherbound manuscript notebooks of Capt Henry Hay, 1st Bombay Lancers, 1885-1887. The 1st Bombay Lancers were sent to Upper Burma where they served with the 3rd Bde in September 1886. They returned to India in March 1888. Associated with the 3rd Burma War (1885-1887).
