Description
Captain Herbert Mackworth Clogstoun, 19th Madras Native Infantry winning the Victoria Cross for an action when he charged with eight men on the 2nd Hyderabad Cavalry against rebels at Chichumbah, 15th Jan 1859. Watercolour on board by Lady Isobel Ryder at Burley in 1912, a copy of a painting by Orlando Norie, which the note on the back said was owned by Cuthbert Clogstoun's brother Herbert Clogstoun. Associated with the Engagement at Chichumbah, Indian Mutiny (1857-1859) 1859.
