Description
US ammunition pouch for M1 carbine, 1944. Made by Camlin Fashions of America Inc, USA. Associated with Colonel Leslie Collingwood Sharpe, Middlesex Regiment (Duke of Cambridge’s Own), used in Korea, 1950-1953. In the early phase of the Korean War, during 1950-51, British troops often used American equipment which was in plentiful supply. The M1 carbine was used extensively by the British but was not as successful in Korea as in Malaya because it did not function well in extreme cold.
