Description
Pattern 1821, Cavalry Trooper’s sword, 1830 (c). Blade stamped with maker’s name, Deakin; three bar guard; blade slightly curved, single edged with flat back and single fuller turning into double edge towards the spear point. Associated with Sir John Hearsey, commander of the Bengal Cavalry during the Indian Mutiny of 1857.
