Notebook containing Capt Hay’s diary 6-7 Nov 1886 and 2 Dec 1886 to 25 Mar 1887. Also contains orders and notes for ‘Operation against Kanle’ and in the area between the Mu and Chindwin rivers. One of three leatherbound manuscript notebooks of Capt Henry Hay, 1st Bombay Lancers, 1885-1887. The 1st Bombay Lancers were sent to Upper Burma where they served with the 3rd Bde in September 1886. They returned to India in March 1888. Associated with the 3rd Burma War (1885-1887).
