Description
Green octagonal fibre identity disc and red circular fibre identity disc, 1939 (c)-1946 (c). Both are tied together with brown string. Associated with Matron Winifred Lizie Aldwinckle, who served with the Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Military Nursing Service, 1939-1946. She served on the hospital ship TSS Maid of Kent, in Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Normandy (she was one of the first 16 QAIMNS to arrive in Jun 1944), Indonesia and Bali. She was twice mentioned in Despatches. Associated with World War Two (1939-1945).
