Inventory description: Papers of Douglas Hamlin McKie (January - December 1915) covering his time in Brazil with the London & Brazilian Bank and return to the UK, including ms correspondence with family and friends covering events in Brazil and his desire to enlist, his voyage home and enlistment with the Artists’ Rifles at Hare Hall Camp, Romford (December 1915). Douglas Hamlin McKie served with the Artists' Rifles and Northumberland Fusiliers and was killed at the Battle of Arras, 1917.
