Description
Coatee, Depot Battalion, Parkhurst, Isle of Wight, worn by Gen Edmund Richard Jeffreys, 1855, pattern 1846-1855. Scarlet wool fabric with blue wool facings; trimmed with a gold wire embroidered tassel and laurel. Four eyelets for attaching -12. Ten large gilt metal battalion buttons in pairs: above the cypher 'VR' a monarchical crown.
